  2. Hi I love your blog!!! I had a quick question to ask. I'm getting ready to make missionary baskets for our missions conference. Do you have any great ideas for these? I hate to get them things they really dont need. I know most are greatful for anything they get but I was hoping you might be able to give me some insight.

    1. I hope I'm not too late in answering this one... Hmmm... well, we always appreciated things that were semi-healthy but would last a while in a van, like granola bars, baked chips, and juices. Fruits are nice but don't travel very well, so just a very small selection of good fruits are always appreciated. Then, small things to keep the kids busy in the van are always received well by the little ones, who love to be remembered in a special way too. And, the cherry on top would be a gas card or a Wal-Mart card, even if just for a small amount! Hope that helps!

  4. Hi Mrs. Sloan, my name is Eva Turner. I found your blog while looking at Missionary display boards. My husband and I will be starting deputation next year. i loved your blog. your home is beautiful, nicer than some homes in the states:-) I see you had Christian Womanhood Magazines, my husband and I both graduated from Hyles-Anderson. Thank you for your positive blog, i am nervous about starting deputation and going to the field, but when i see happy missionary wives it encourages me.

  5. Hello there! You do not know me but I have been following your blog, what a blessing! We adopted a little boy back in March from Torez, Ukraine (Donetsk region). We live in SD but are about to move to CA. I see you are in CA now :) May God bless you as you are home (well at home in the U.S :)

  6. Hope and pray you folks are doing well. We pray for you at Heritage Baptist Church in Lawrence, Kansas. Love to get emails about your blog, especially with everything going on in Israel right now.

By the way, regarding your book giveaway, I have never been to Israel, but what I would love to see is not any particular place in Israel, but I would love to see God's chosen people take action regarding the land God gave to them. If they followed God's will for them, He would protect and defend them. It's strange how I, a gentile, can see this, but God's people can't.
