We begin preparation many weeks in advance, so before I show you the actual banquet pictures in my next post, I thought I would start with a post showing the preparation work. Most of the planning, designing, and organizing was done by our pastor's wife, Mrs. Judy Van Sant. This year she chose the theme "Exceeding Great and Precious Promises of God" (Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: 2 Peter 1:4). We focused on the promise God gave Noah in Genesis 9, through the rainbow.
Mrs. Judy is talented at making big events become a reality, and this day was no exception. Here are some of the pictures taken in her home and then later at the church:

Since the banquet was held on a Monday afternoon, we found ourselves working at the church late into the evening on Sunday, turning our church auditorium into a banquet hall:
I love your decorations! Soooo pretty! What a neat holiday to celebrate there in the Ukraine! I have a question - I love the look of the white chair back covers with the colored ribbons. Did you make the white covers? If so, did you get the pattern online or just create it? I would LOVE to make some for special events at our church, but I need a pattern. I love the uniform look - it really dresses up those old metal chairs! Thanks for any help or direction you can give me on this!
ReplyDeletep.s. If you are able to reply, could you please send your reply to labc@iserv.net? Thanks again!

ReplyDeleteYour decorations are beautiful. I was searching online for ideas and your pictures gave me many. I love the white chair covers with the different colored sashes. Do you have a pattern? I'm sure the ladies are still remembering how beautiful everything was. May God continue to bless you and your church! My address is sbcmkt1@comcast.net Thank you! Myrtle
