I love this picture! It pretty much sums up life here on our mission field. The word for it would possibly be
oxymoron or
paradox. This picture is an excellent image of what we see on a day-to-day basis... old
and modern co-existing. And you know what? I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!
Exellent!!!! I loved it!

I love it too! A picture does certainly speak a 1000 words!
ReplyDeleteWe see this in the aspect of cell phones. We never dreamed that nearly every church member would have their own cell phone. It is a common sight to see several of them plugged into the outlets around the auditorium during church. Many of them live in homes without electricity, so they bring their phones to church to charge.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat picture! It is so interesting to see our people embracing the future while still clinging to their old ways. Love the picture, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHa! That's hilarious Jolene... I remember seeing similar sights in Romania and Poland, years ago. Not with laptops, but with cell phones.
ReplyDeleteAnd, your sticker idea is great!
*Hugs*
hehe I'm going to have to get out my camera and search our village now! Praying for your pregnancy and safe travels back to the states. Hope you enjoy Walmart and get to satisfy some pregancy cravings!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love this photo! The only thing that would make it cuter would be if one of the ladies was talking on a cell phone, too!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling fine!
So true!
