It's a...

And here's my 22-week tummy...He may be small, but, boy, is he active!
We were ALL FIVE hoping for another little girl so that we would have an even number of girls and boys, but apparently, that is not God’s will. However, we also know and understand that Ukraine is in dire need of godly young men, so we are humbled that God would count us worthy to rear little men for Him for this purpose. AND, I adore the two boys we already have, so what more could a mother ask for?!
The first person we called and told was Alina, the 18-year old girl in our church who is bedridden. She was, as you can imagine, very excited and honored that we would share the news with her first.

And, once Daddy scooped little 3-year-old Brianna into his arms to let her know that she would always be the only little Princess in his life, she quickly forgot her disappointment at not getting a sister. How precious is that?!

  1. Jolene, that is AWESOME! Your boys are so handsome, and like you said, Brianna will always be the Princess :) When folks ask me what I think I will be having, I tell them that more than likely it will be another boy. We have 4 boys and 2 girls, so that is more probable. But the Lord surely does have His perfect plan :) Can't wait to see you in a few months :) Love ya, Ruthie

  3. congratulations!

i want you to know that the moment at the end of this post, with Brianna and her daddy, really touched my heart because i didn't have that growing up. where Brianna got a big hug, i was abused for 11 years, and at the end of those years i was kidnapped & taken to mexico where i was held for a month by my father & some people he knew but i didn't. i literally didn't know it was supposed to be otherwise until i went to a Christian high school and realized all my friends had fathers who loved them. i was blessed with the best Mom a girl could have, and i'll defend her til my dying day because she was a victim too, and she did everything she could to show us (my little sister & myself) how much we were loved, wanted, and valued. but she could only do so much.

reading about such a simple moment in your little girl's life reminded me that there IS hope and that not everyone is like that. it reminds me that if i wait for God's best in my life, it IS possible for me to marry someone who will not hurt our children the way my biological father hurt us. i'm sure i sound absolutely crazy to you right now, going on about something that wasn't even the main point of the post, but i wanted to thank you for sharing that moment with us... God definitely used it to remind me of hope. :-)

praying for a continued healthy pregnancy!

  4. You don't even look pregnant. You look great. I love seeing people pregnant. It is such a blessing isn't it?? One of God's wonderful gifts!! Congradulations!! Im sure you guys have made so many people happy and touched so many peoples life's in the Ukraine! We just adopted 3 special needs babies from Odessa Ukraine last Jan. I have to say I had a very hard time with the change of environment. I don't know how you do it. It must be God walking you through. I could not eat the food, or understand a single person. You guys are amazing!
