Update on Sheila Campbell...

Remember my prayer request for Sheila Campbell three months ago?  Sheila, a missionary's wife, had to leave her beloved mission field of the Philippines with her family because she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma cancer.  Tomorrow is an important day for this dear family.
Here is a Facebook message Sheila wrote to her friends last week:

My dearest friends, I know it has been so long since I have written on here but I want you all to know that each and every post has been deeply appreciated by me.  I could never even begin to express how much of a blessing and encouragement your love and prayers have been to me this past year.  It has not been an easy journey and I know the road ahead will not be easy either but I believe that God is in control and I also believe that your prayers have carried me through so far.  I had another catheter placed in my chest on Wednesday and I began pre-transplant chemo that day - I will have chemo until Monday and then have total body radiation.  The transplant is scheduled for Tuesday.  The doctors have told me that the next few months will be tough so I am asking for your continued prayers.  Please also pray for my boys the next few months as I will be in Baltimore and not able to be around them for some time.  I love you all and I pray God will bless each of you who have reached out to me through your posts, notes and most especially your prayers on my behalf.

Makes our own problems seem so small, doesn't it?

Sheila's transplant (that she mentions above) is tomorrow.  Will you join me in praying for a missionary mom in need?

  18. Jolene,

I just got your blog update, but I had already seen this on your blog yesterday. I shared some of your blog posts with my husband last night. I am praying for this family!

I have a dear friend in the cancer battle here, as well. Her name is Katherine. They found the cancer in the summer, it was already a stage 4. It has spread from her uterus to her liver, lungs, and spine even with chemo. Crazy though, except for her chemo week every 3 weeks, she feels well enough to visit family in other states. She is weak, but no pain. The Dr. is baffled as to why she is even here, much less feeling as well as she does, even though her liver looks like Swiss cheese. He says, when her liver decides to shut down, she will only live 48 hours. He is a believer and knows he has no clue what God is up to.

Praying for your sweet family today, too!

  21. Please be assured of my prayers on Sheila's behalf . I will pray that the Great physician will reach down and do His work thru her physicians. I will continue to pray for grace, strength, and comfort for the Campbell family. This is an extremely hard time for this family!

  23. Good morning, Jolene

I just wanted to take a minute and thank you or reminding me. I remember reading your first update, which was the first time I heard about Sheila's cancer. I planned to write, and you know how it goes. I had forgotten all about it. So when I got your email I needed the reminder. I am praying for her now, and we are praying in our class at school, and I will have the kids make a card for her and her family. SO thanks for the reminder.

Love you and while I'm at it, I will pray for you and your family today. So thankful for you. Love ya tons!!

  24. Jolene,

I don't know Sheila personally, but do you know where in Baltimore she is going to be? Our church is not far from Baltimore and I would be glad to do what I could for her. Thanks, Mary
