We're home and we've jumped right back into the ministry... right where we left off. We were welcomed home with balloons, posters, lots of candies and cookies, and mostly a whole lot of love. It feels so good to know that we have been missed, but we have missed our home and our people equally as much!
Today our yearly VBS started. I will do my best to post each day so that you can "participate" right along with us.
My heart was mostly blessed today by, not only the fact that our Ukrainian people can run these weeks by themselves now, but by the fact that THEY are helping to train a new generation. We had 5 of our teens (mostly Junior High aged) show up to VBS to help as leaders. I couldn't have felt more happiness than if you had done anything else for me. My heart is so blessed by these young people who are jumping in and learning to lead their own generation!
Three visitors today,
Orphans coming tomorrow....
This is going to be a great week!
Loved it!!! Especially that the teachers are Ukrainian, teaching their own people. Reminds me of a verse I blogged today:
ReplyDeleteAnd thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. (Deuteronomy 6:7 KJV)
So sweet! And I look forward to more posts on VBS. To God be the Glory, great things HE hath done!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE VBS! It is one of my most favorite and at the same time busiest times of the year! SO glad you are sharing the week with us! We look forward to seeing each day's activities and hearing of the good reports of workers out to help and new little faces accepting Christ. I loved the picture of Brianna and the girl helping her with the Coke bottle water game! You will have to explain that game to me as we have a "Water Game Day" during our week too!
ReplyDeleteHave you had your VBS yet? I’m terribly sorry about waiting so long to answer this comment. The game Brianna was playing was just of a 2-liter coke bottle filled to the top with water, with the cap screwed on. The only hitch here is that the cap had holes drilled into it. Each team had one of these. Then, the different teams were simultaneously trying to fill buckets {which were just a bit more than arm’s length away} with their water, trying to see who could get the most water into their bucket the fastest.
DeleteMy hubby is a genius at coming up with these types of games. They just roll off of the top of his head at a moment’s notice and the kids love him for it. They are always SO funny!
VBS! Love it and looks like the kids do too! So happy things are going so well! We are praying for God to move in a great and mighty way there in the next few months!! Your kids look so happy to be home!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see tomorrows pics! Little orphans who just need to know that they do have a father and the worlds greatest one at that! Wish I could just bring them all home and love them!! Praise the Lord that they have you and your family!! Thanks for sharing! Love y'all.
