VBS - Day 2

A great day with 31 kids {12 from the orphanage}, 8 workers, yesterday's teen visitor bringing a visitor, and 5 salvations!  I would call that a great reason to rejoice and look forward to the rest of the week!

My camera was dropped while we were in Israel and I waited until we returned to Ukraine to have it repaired.  I got it back from the shop last week, and am still having serious issues with it.  Please forgive the fuzzy pictures, the lack of group pictures {too much movement from sugar-induced VBS kids going on here}, and poor quality.  But really, a less-than-luxurious camera is nothing compared to all of the excitement going on around these parts, which I hope you can see despite my technical issues.  {It has been sad to have to delete so many pictures, and keep trying over and over again to get some pictures worth keeping.}  Anyway, God is doing great things in Simferopol, Ukraine on Bachchisarayskaya Street {how's that for a hard-to-pronounce name?}!  Wanna see?

{Below} Our visitor from the village where we live, the "no-name" village, Anya!  What a sweet friend she is to my children.  It is just too bad she comes from a divorced home and is only in our village to visit her daddy and grandmother a few weeks each summer.  Love this sweetie!

Today also started the first of a series of Tuesday "Backyard Bible Clubs" that was held later in the afternoon at Pastor Bob's house.  We do this each year as well, but usually each day for one week.  This year we are trying something new by having it only once a week, all summer.  David took our oldest two children today while I stayed home with the little ones, so there are no pictures to share.  I hope to start blogging about those exciting weekly happenings soon too!

Kudos to all of our amazing, hard-working church people who are volunteering their time this week to reach their city for Christ.  I admire them to the fullest and wish you could know them.  Really, your heart would be blessed to see their dedication to our Lord.

Until tomorrow...

  1. What precious praises to God and our Saviour for the work going on with you all in Ukraine. This was such an encouraging post. Those souls, dear CHILDREN, are so important to our Lord. May He richly bless ALL of you that are sacrificing and serving for our Saviour. You are laying up TREASURE in Heaven. Crowns to cast at His feet!

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:14)
