Servant's Banquet 2010

Our annual Servant's Banquet was held this past Saturday, and I wanted to show you some pictures from it. Here they are!
Banquet held at Sofram, a local restaurant
First course: salad Main course: Mushroom chicken rolls and mashed potatoes Dessert: cake (with words: "...that they may be saved." I Cor. 10:33)This candy was at every place setting, and each place card had a small flower glued on. Later on during the program, we found out that those with a red flower were the winners of the centerpieces! Centerpieces were these cute little "shoes" with real, mini roses!
And since I had a red flower, I won a centerpiece! (which I later gave to our babysitter for the evening...)
With my honey
Our speaker for the evening was Missionary John Spillman, who is pictured here with his wife Dawn. They drove 10 hours to be with us!

"Servant of the Year" for hearing church - Lena Trushina
The next day in church we were blessed by a special from the Spillman children, who sang in three languages!
And here is the smallest Spillman, who was too small to sing but certainly received all of the attention!

Praise the Lord for the Mitchums, who organized the Servant's Banquet. And a great big thanks to the servants in our church who serve Jesus and expect nothing in return!

  5. Hi there, I found your blog through Facebook and the tragedy with Carissa.

We are missionaries to the Deaf in South Africa sent from the same church as the Irelands. How many Deaf people are in your church? Do you know Robert Fuller?

    Have a blessed day!

  7. Those chicken rolls do look great and very appetizing, don't they?

I'm sorry, Lori, that I don't have a recipe for them. I would like it myself!

One thing I can guarantee you, is that it is most likely made with a sour cream base, since they cook most of their cream sauces here with sour cream. Yum! Yum!
